Bob Weddle

Robert W. “Bob” Weddle, 65, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 4:54 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the Columbus Regional Hospital.

Bob was born July 14, 1956, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Dave Weddle and Mae Ault Weddle. On July 15, 1977, Bob was united in marriage to Suzie Brummett; she survives.

Bob was a 1974 graduate of Hauser High School and was a member of the Indiana Army Reserve National Guard from 1974 to 1980.

Bob retired from Dunlap Construction after many years of service. After retirement, Bob was an independent contractor for The Republic.

Bob will be missed by his wife of 44 years, Suzie Weddle; daughters, Jessica (Adam) Cochran of Indianapolis and Sarah Weddle of Columbus; grandchildren, Finn and Amelia Hibbert of Columbus and Stryker James of Indianapolis; his father and stepmother, Dave and Carol Weddle of Columbus; brother, David (Brenda) Weddle of Hope; half-brothers, Brad (Lee Ann) Barriger of Greensburg, Doug (Cheryl) Weddle of Columbus, and Craig Weddle of Columbus; half-sister, Tina Zieleniuk of Columbus; stepbrother, Butch Barriger of Hartsville; stepsister, Melody Harmon of Dunkirk; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Barriger and stepfather, Don Barriger.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Bruce Cochran officiating.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Military honors will be presented by the Indiana Army Reserve National Guard Honor Guard.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
