Jets improve to 2-0

HOPE — Hauser beat a larger-class school for the second time in less than 24 hours, knocking off 2A co-No. 16 South Ripley 50-38 on Saturday.

The Jets (2-0) led 21-20 at halftime before using a 19-7 advantage in the third quarter to pull away.

Madelyn Poe led Hauser with 18 points. Adrianna Musillami added 14.

Panthers win classic

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County routed Lafayette Jeff 61-21 and beat Charlestown 55-42 in the final to win the Jennings Tip-Off Classic.

Juliann Woodard led the Panthers (3-0) with 15 poins against Jeff. Kali Thompson added 10.

Lily Ernstes scored 15 against Charlestown to lead the way. Woodard scored 14, and Alivia Elmore added 12.

Eagles fall to Dragons

NASHVILLE — Class 3A No. 2 Silver Creek, the defending 3A state champion, opened its season with a 65-31 win at Brown County.

Savannah Oden led the Eagles (0-2) with 10 points. Abigail Watson scored nine, and Lexie Austin added eight.

Spartans top Cougars

GREENSBURG — South Decatur was within 14-13 at halftime, but Southwestern (Shelby) pulled away for a 49-37 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

Brook Somers led the Cougars (1-1, 0-1) with 15 points. Loryn Pate added 11.
