Bull Dogs top Braves

TERRE HAUTE — Columbus North got its Conference Indiana season started on the right track Wednesday night with a 39-28 win at Terre Haute South.

The game was tied 13-13 at halftime before the Bull Dogs (6-3, 1-0) were able to pull ahead 25-18 after three quarters.

Sam King led North with 19 points. Ty Ferguson added nine.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lancers take second

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh led 26-22 at halftime, but Southwestern (Shelby) rallied for a 40-33 win in the championship game of the Edinburgh Tournament.

Callie Hancock led the Lancers (8-4) with 11 points. Gracie Crawhorn added eight.

In the seventh-place game, Columbus Christian fell to Hagerstown 56-19. Sarah Lorimor led the Crusaders (6-5) with 14 points.

Hornets edge Cougars

HENRYVILLE — Henryville scored on a last-second shot to pull out a 28-27 win against South Decatur.

Loryn Pate led the Cougars (3-10) with seven points.
