SWAT call results in 2 arrests

An ongoing narcotics investigation resulted in the activation of the Columbus Police Department’s SWAT Team Monday night and ended with two arrests.

At approximately 8:40 p.m., CPD SWAT, which is comprised of Columbus Police officers and Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies, served a narcotics warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Reed Street. During the warrant service, Jennifer L. Goldman, 36, and Michael E. Ames, 39, both of Columbus, were taken into custody without incident.

Officers recovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the home. Goldman and Ames were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail and remanded with a 48-hour hold.:

Ames was held on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine. Goldman was held on preliminary charges of two counts of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a syringe and maintaining a common nuisance.
