Koryn Greiwe capped her high school basketball career in a big way Sunday afternoon.
The Columbus East senior scored 17 points to lead the East to a 66-62 win against the West in the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Classic at Barr-Reeve. Greiwe, who recently committed to continue her career at Indiana Wesleyan, was selected the game’s MVP.
The West won the boys game 129-123. Columbus North’s Sam King was a member of the East squad.
The HBCA consists of four districts in the southern half of the state. Ten seniors from each of the four districts were selected to HBCA All-District teams, and from that group, East and West All-Stars were selected for the game.
North’s Ely to play soccer at DePauw
Columbus North senior K.J. Ely has committed to continue her soccer career at DePauw.

Ely scored seven goals and led the Bull Dogs with 14 assists last fall, helping them to a share of the Conference Indiana title and a sectional championship. She was an All-Conference selection and an Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association third-team All-State honoree as a senior.
North girls soccer to hold callout meeting
Columbus North girls soccer will hold a callout meeting for any girl in grades 7-through-11 that would like information about the team at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the North High School cafeteria.
Coaches will discuss the spring and summer schedule, including friendlies, team camp and the fall season. For more information, contact coach David Young at [email protected]
Athletic events rescheduled
Some sporting events that were rained out on Tuesday have been rescheduled.
The Columbus East at Edinburgh girls tennis match will be today. The Roncalli at Columbus North softball game will be Wednesday, the East Central at North baseball game will be May 3 and the North at Center Grove girls tennis match will be May 5.
The Trinity Lutheran at Southwestern (Hanover) girls tennis match has been rescheduled for Monday, and the Trinity at Providence softball game will be April 25.
Also, Jennings County has added a home softball doubleheader with Milan beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday.
