Parks to offer pickleball clinic

The Columbus Parks &Recreation Department will host a clinic for people who want to learn the fast-growing sport of pickleball beginning May 5.

The clinic, which features instruction on the fundamentals, game play with coaching, is scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursdays, May 5, 12 and 19 at the pickleball courts at Richard Elementary School, 3311 Fairlawn Drive. Each session will include fundamentals building on those from prior sessions.

Equipment will be provided, and cost of the clinic is $45 per person.

Participants are asked to wear court shoes and comfortable clothing, bring plenty of water or sports drinks, sun protection (hat, sun glasses, &sun screen), bug spray, and a camping chair to rest at breaks.
