Martha Ann Johnson, 71, of Columbus passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital.
Martha was born in Bartholomew County February 5, 1951, the daughter of Elza Eugene and Lois Carter Boggs. She married Hubert D. Johnson September 3, 1970 in Columbus; he preceded her in death August 31, 2015.
She retired after several years from the Bartholomew Consolidated School System, where she was a custodian. She attended First Christian Church, enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting and reading.
She is survived by her nephews, Tim (Elaine) Boggs of North Vernon, Michael (Karla) Boggs of North Vernon and Francis Boggs, Jr.; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street. Calling will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Indiana Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
