David W. Lee, 45, of Columbus, passed away September 8, 2022, in Columbus.

David was born September 12, 1976 in Columbus, the son of David Corona and Marilyn Lee.

David was a kind, caring, and generous person. He was always trying to help people, and often would try to do anything that would make their lives better. David enjoyed fishing and watching football, especially when his Indianapolis Colts played. Most of all, David loved his family. He especially loved spending time with his brothers. He will be deeply missed.

David is survived by his wife Amanda S. Lee; his father David; children David W. Lee Jr., Cameron T. Lee, and Jaydon D. Lee all of Elizabethtown, Tiffany M. (Christina Garcia) Lee of Elizabethtown, Corey D. Kelshaw of Crothersville, Mariyah P. (Nicholas Marling) Kelshaw of Seymour, and Kendra N. Kelshaw of Crothersville; grandchildren Gabriel and Antonio Garcia, as well as Sarah Leanne Miller and Ivory Paetzel; brothers Douglas E. Lee, Calvin T. Lee and Kirby G. (April) Parris Jr. of Columbus; sisters Kimberly A. (Victor) Barnes of North Vernon and Tina (Randy Neely) Lee of Nashville, Tennessee; his aunt and uncle Mike and Sabine Lee of Brown County; Lisa Sallee of Elizabethtown, who cared for David like he was her own son; his mother and father-in-law Carrie &Darrell Barnes of Columbus; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as Randy Burnett, whom David considered his “brother from another mother”.

He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Lee Stevenson; his 1st stepfather Douglas Johnson; his 2nd stepfather Clinton Stevenson; brothers Richard and Steven Shelton; a sister Michelle Lee; Bonnie Garland, whom David considered his 2nd mother; as well as his grandfather Jesse Lee.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2022 and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
