Bull Dogs roll to first win

MARTINSVILLE — Columbus North scored the game’s first 17 points and cruised from there to its first win of the season, a 73-19 rout Friday at Martinsville.

The Bull Dogs (1-2) led 45-14 at halftime, then outscored the Artesians 18-1 in the third quarter, triggering a running clock in the process.

Lauren Barker led North with 18 points. Miley McClellan scored 15, Kathryn Wilson had 10 and Kayla Jones added seven.

Tiger Cubs rally past Eagles

NASHVILLE — Brown County led 36-35 after three quarters, but Greencastle rallied for a 64-53 Western Indiana Conference win.

Lexie Austin led the Eagles (1-2, 0-1) with 19 points. Maddie Huff scored 14, and Ava Stogsdill added 12.

Gloria Brewer scored 46 points to lead the Tiger Cubs.

Shiners edge Cougars

RISING SUN — Rising Sun handed South Decatur its first loss of the season, a 47-46 defeat.

Makayla Somers led the Cougars (3-1) with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Brayley Sundal scored 10 points, and Kiley Best added seven points.

Golden Bears top Lancers

EDINBURGH — Shelbyville jumped out to a 20-4 lead after one quarter and went on to hand Edinburgh a 75-28 defeat.

Gracie Crawhorn led the Lancers (2-2) with 13 points. Kenna Streeval and Cloee Britton each added five.
