Rita Anne Adam

CAMPTON, KENTUCKY

It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Anne Adam announces her passing Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the age of 82 years. Rita will be deeply missed by her daughter Alyssa (Rick) Pruitt; her granddaughter Alesia L.R. (Seth) Stevenson; her grandchildren Alexia, 8, Ethan, 7, and Kaden John, 4; brother, Ed Howell; sister-in-law, Willene Howell; brother, Gene Adam; sister-in-law, Ruby Gamble; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other friends in Indiana and Kentucky.

She was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her parents Carl V. and Lula Walls Howell, her husband Gale Richard Adam, who preceded her in death on December 26, 2018, after 59 wonderful years together in marriage, as well as her son John Curtis Adam, all of whom preceded her in death.

Rita was a member of Tallega Community Church in Lee County, Kentucky. She firmly believed in the power of prayer, and often was heard saying “nothing is done by prayer”. A faithful prayer warrior, Rita would often spend her nights on her knees, pouring prayer out upon lists of prayer requests until the sunrise could be seen touching the sky. She also loved spending time with her family and was especially fond of the time she was able to spend with her great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Pruitt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, November 25, 2022, and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Gale at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Voice of the Martyrs (1815 SE Bison Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006) thru the funeral home.
