COLUMBUS
Kirt A. Vannice, 66, of Columbus, passed away at 7:12 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home.
Kirt was born August 1, 1956, in LaGrange, Indiana, the son of James Richard and Shirley Hankins Vannice.
On April 24, 1987 he married Betty Jean Hitch.
Mr. Vannice worked as a truck driver for most of his life.
Survivors include his children, Brad (Lillian) Vannice, Nicholas (Christy) Vannice, both of Columbus, Stacy (Ty) Dickenson of Orlando, Florida; step-children, Christina (Richard) Anderson of Columbus, Royce (Taylor) Burns of Whiteland; grandchildren, Ashley (Derek) Perdue, Ambra (Earl) Jewell, Jr., Emma Vannice, Bryson Zerr, Ashlyn Love, Ridge Burns, Luke Dickenson, Mason Dickenson, Hudson Dickenson; several great-grandchildren; father, James Richard Vannice; brothers, Kim Vannice of Columbus, Bruce (Susan) Vannice of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Becki (Jay) Flickinger of Canton, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Vannice and wife, Betty.
In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date.
Inurnment will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
