Norman homers, but Marian ousted from NAIA World Series

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Sierra Norman went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs Tuesday, but Marian saw its season come to an end with an 8-5 loss to Oregon Tech in the semifinals of the softball NAIA World Series.

Norman, a junior first baseman from Columbus North, hit a two-run homer to straightaway center that tied the game at 3-3 in the second inning. The Knights (52-9) took a 5-3 lead, but Oregon Tech rallied with four runs i nthe fifth and one in the sixth.

Savannah Harweger, a senior shortstop from Trinity Lutheran, walked twice and scored a run.
