The girls golf season is entering its final week of the regular season before sectional play.
There will be two conference tournaments held in the Columbus area on Monday. Columbus North will host the Conference Indiana Tournament at Timbergate, and Columbus East will host the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament at Otter Creek. Both are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
On Tuesday, the Bull Dogs and Olympians will face off against each in a dual match at Otter Creek. Both schools will play in the Bloomington North Sectional at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 18 at Cascades Golf Course. The regional will be held Sept. 23 at The Legends Golf Course in Franklin.
North volleyball gets exemplary report
Columbus North volleyball has earned an Exemplary Behavior Report from its win at Southport on Tuesday.
“Coach Jenna Ortega, her coaching staff and team players are to be commended for their exemplary behavior for their contest vs. Southport High School. The coaches and players were respectful of their opponents, as well as the bench personnel and officials throughout the JV and varsity contests,” wrote George Knezevich, who officiated the game.
Soccer, boys tennis draws are this month
With the fall sports season at about the midway point, the boys and girls soccer and boys tennis sectional draws are just around the corner.
The boys and girls soccer sectional draws will be on Sept. 24, with the time still to be determined. The boys tennis draws will be on Sept. 25. The draws will be livestreamed at IHSAAtv.org.
Columbus East and Columbus North will be in a Class 3A girls soccer sectional at Whiteland. East will be in a 3A boys soccer sectional that is hosted by North.
North will host a boys tennis sectional that includes East, Hauser, Edinburgh and sectional newcomer Greensburg after the tennis sectional assignments were realigned in the spring. Brown County tennis has moved to the Bloomington North Sectional.
