3A No. 6 Bull Dogs close regular season with win

TERRE HAUTE — Class 3A No. 6 Columbus North was missing several key players because of injury, but still closed the regular season with a 5-1 Conference Indiana boys soccer win Saturday at Terre Haute South.

Madux Tovey recorded a hat trick with three second-half goals. Christian Cardoso and Thomas De La Cruz had given the Bull Dogs (9-3-3, 4-1) a 2-0 halftime lead with first-half goals.

Aidan Whitley recorded two assists, and Misaki Takemoto added one assist for North, which outshot the Braves 23-5. The Bull Dogs put 13 shots on goal to three for Terre Haute South.

North’s Juan Jose Salcedo Calderon posted two saves in the first 72 minutes. Noah Marsh played the final eight minutes and did not face a shot on goal.
