North boys, girls sweep Lincoln Trail invite

TELL CITY — The Columbus North boys and girls cross-country team swept Saturday’s Lincoln Trail Invitational.

The 25th-ranked North girls scored 28 points to 60 for runner-up Corydon Central. The No. 12 Bull Dog boys matched No. 17 Evansville Reitz with 35 points, but had the faster sixth runner.

Neal White finished second in 15 minutes, 12.0 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) to lead the North boys. Draven Martinez took sixth in 16:00.7, while Akot Tong was seventh (16:09.8), Jace Works ninth (16:15.2), Jonny Klaus 11th (16:20.0), Logan Vanzant 12th (16:23.3) and Adam Reckers 14th (16:37.4).

Kyleigh Wolf

Kyleigh Wolf led the Bull Dog girls with a second-place finish in 19:25.9. Ainsley Sherlock took fifth in 19:42.6, while Carys Glyn-Jones was sixth (20:30.1), Tristan Works seventh (20:31.6), Emma Lowther ninth (20:33.7), Macy Eaton 13th (20:51.2) and Lydia Weed 14th (20:51.2).
