Roberta Louise McAnelly, 70, of Columbus, passed away at her residence on September 21, 2023. Roberta was born July 16, 1953, in Columbus to the late Norval Ray Ogle Sr. and Betty Ruth (Hall) Ogle.

Roberta was united in marriage to Robert, and have spent the last 50 years together. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, family member, and friend to everyone who knew her. She wore her heart on her sleeve and always made herself available to anyone who needed an extra touch of love. She spent several years working in housekeeping at Holiday Inn and Cummins, she also worked at the Western Pancake House. Roberta enjoyed a good game of Bingo, watching derby races with her family, enjoyed watching ball games, listening to country music, and her beloved “Bubby” and “Hovey”. The greatest joy in her life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Robert, of Columbus, her children; Scott (Katie) Douglas of Seymour, Robert McAnelly Jr., of Sullivan, Andrew McAnelly, of Vincennes, Jacqueline Mitchell of Columbus, Ohio, and Shawna McKeen of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Roberta is also survived by her brother, Richard (Vicki) Ogle of Columbus; her sisters; Connie (Larry) Whitis of Avon Park, Florida, and Stella (David) Carter of Mt. Auburn, Indiana; her daughter-in-law Angela Ogle, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Anthony Ogle; brothers, Norval Ogle Jr., Michael Ogle, and Guy Ogle, as well as her sister Linda Carmer.

Calling hours will be held at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and also on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral Services will also be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nathan Shockley officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Hospital.
