Eagle girls take fourth, boys seventh in WIC

NASHVILLE — Brown County’s girls finished fourth, and the Eagle boys took seventh Saturday in the Western Indiana Conference cross-country meet at Eagle Park.

Edgewood won the girls meet with 32 points to 47 for Northview, 66 for Indian Creek and 145 for Brown County. Edgewood’s boys slipped past Northview 50-58 for the title, and the Eagles finished with 183.

Sadie Hiatt led the Brown County girls with a 21st-place finish in 22 minutes, 44.57 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles). Izzy Miller took 26th in 23:01.96, while Della Hitchcock was 31st (23:11.82), Kayleigh Austin 38th (24:23.80) and Megan Cumberledge 40th (24:31.91).

Charlie Webb finished 27th in 18:10.57 to lead the Eagle boys. Kai Koester took 38th in 18:48.95, while Corbin Brahaum was 39th (18:49.25), Eli Wrightsman 42nd (18:58.14), Josh Redmon 54th (20:04.10), Aden Skaggs 61st (20:32.70) and Carter Condon 64th (20:56.73).
