Facing financial problems too great to overcome, the board of the five-year-old International School of Columbus voted to close the school.

1998

A 15-year-old boy had to be rescued when a tunnel he attempted to dig through a 12-foot-high-pile of mulch at Smith School collapsed and trapped him.

1973

Four more retail businesses joined Sears as Courthouse Center opened to “oohs and ahs” while construction workers continued to hammer and paint to complete the building in time for an early 1974 opening of The Commons and the remainder of the shopping center.
