The city awarded an $834,255 contract to Denney Excavating of Indianapolis to dismantle and remove the former wastewater treatment plant on Water Street.

1998

A musical salute called “Let’s All Go To the Movies,” meant to raise money for stage lighting at The Crump Theatre, had to be moved from the historic building to Columbus East High School auditorium because of emergency repairs to a weakened roof truss.

1973

A proposal was made to remove all parking meters downtown and replace the lost revenues with a system of assessments.
