Josh Conrad // Columbus Christian senior basketball player

Conrad led the Crusaders with 15 points in a 47-43 loss to Cincinnati Landmark Christian and 25 in a 66-46 win over Rhea County (Tennessee) and scored 10 in a 53-43 loss to Rocket City in the National Association of Christian Athletes tournament.

His performance last week: “I’m very satisfied with how I played. Being a senior, it was my last time, so I really wanted to leave it all out on the court and finish well.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just put my headphones on and play some country or some rap and get locked in.”

Favorite drink: “Sweet tea.”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite class: “Bible class”

Favorite sports team: “Milwaukee Bucks”

Favorite athlete: “Kobe Bryant or Giannis Antetokounmpo”

Role model: “My dad (Mike Conrad)”

Best advice: “Work smarter, not harder.”

Athletics goal: “My dream is to play in college.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Paris. It would be really cool to be there.”

FEMALE

Hannah Perry // Columbus North sophomore gymnast

Hannah Perry

Perry tied for ninth on the floor and tied for 15th on the vault and finished 19th in the all-around competition Saturday to help to Bull Dogs to a fourth-place team finish at the state finals.

Her performance last week: “I’m very happy with how things worked out. Besides the bobble on beam, I did my best and had some (personal records) in there, too.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I always do my hair a different way each meet. I never do it the same way.”

Favorite drink: “Ice White Mocha from Starbucks”

Favorite food: “Japanese Stirfry”

Favorite class: “English. I like to write, and I like to read.”

Favorite sports team: “UCLA gymnastics”

Favorite athlete: “(Former UCLA gymnast) Katelyn Ohashi”

Role model: “My dad (North assistant athletics director Jason Perry)”

Best advice: “My dad always says, ‘The most important thing is the next thing,’ and that has gotten me through so many years of gymnastics. You mess up on an event, the next one counts more.’’

Athletics goal: “I hope to place at state next year on any event.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Bora Bora. It’s gorgeous.”
