COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Emergency Management says there is an elevated fire risk this afternoon due to weather conditions.
Wind gusts to around 35-40 mph will combine with low humidity to increase fire danger over central Indiana this afternoon. Rain over the last week will help to limit the overall threat, but with the strength of the winds any fires could quickly get out of
control, emergency management officials said. Emergency management asked that open burning be avoided today and care should be taken when disposing of flammable materials.
