Crimson Pride split pair in Michigan

KENTWOOD, Mich. — IU Columbus baseball bounced back from a 14-7 loss in the first game of a doubleheader with a 21-1 victory in the second game Thursday at Grace Christian.

Johnny Sewell went 2 for 3 with a home run in the opener. Brevin Barker went 2 for 5. Cyrus Robinson, the first of five Crimson Pride pitchers, took the loss.

In the second game, Lucas Slager went 4 for 5 with a double, two home runs and six RBIs; and Peyton Blinn went 2 for 3 with two home runs and seven RBIs. John Codner went 2 for 4 with a double, and Sewell went 2 for 4. Will Lewis had a home run and two RBIs, and Jennings County graduate Austin Martin had two RBIs. Starting pitcher Jared Ross picked up the win.

IUC (10-24) hosts IU Kokomo for a single game Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday, with action starting at 1 p.m. both days.
