MALE

Connor Hensley // Columbus North senior baseball player

Hensley went 1 for 3 with an RBI in a 5-0 win against Batesville, threw a five-hitter without allowing an earned run in Saturday’s 7-1 win at Silver Creek and went 1 for 3 in a 3-1 loss to Silver Creek in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

His performance last week: “We didn’t get to practice a lot, so we were hitting and throwing on our own time. But we played great as a team.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I normally just listen to music to get focused and ready to go.”

Favorite drink: “Lemonade”

Favorite food: “Mashed potatoes”

Favorite class: “US History.”

Favorite sports team: “I like the Los Angeles Dodgers.”

Favorite athlete: “(Dodgers center fielder) Mookie Betts”

Role model: “My dad (Greg Hensley).”

Best advice: “Just always do your best and practice as much as you can.”

Athletics goal: “To win state this year.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Maldives, because it’s always been a dream of mine to go to a beach like that.”

FEMALE

Hermione Robinson // Columbus East senior softball player

Hermione Robinson

Robinson threw a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts and went 1 for 3 with an RBI in an 8-3 win against Hauser. On Saturday, she struck out 15 and went 2 for 3 with a double, a home run and two RBIs in a 7-6 win against Mt. Vernon and went 2 for 3 with an RBI in a 10-1 second-game loss.

Her performance last week: “Obviously, there’s some things I could still fix, but overall, I’m pretty happy with it.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Sometimes, I drink a red bull or a coffee. It gets my energy levels up.”

Favorite drink: “Mocha Cookie Crumble”

Favorite food: “I love dirt pudding.”

Favorite class: “Weights”

Favorite sports team: “Tennessee and Florida softball.”

Favorite athlete: “(Former Florida pitcher) Kelly Barnhill. I always watched her when I was younger, and she was kind of an inspiration for me pitching-wise.”

Role model: “There’s a lot of coaches that I admire.”

Best advice: “You have 5 seconds to get a bad play out of your head.’’

Athletics goal: “Just finish out my senior year strong and enjoy myself.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Germany, because I really like the idea of going to the World War II stuff.”
