NORTH VERNON — Floyd Central won all five matches in straight sets Monday in handing Jennings County a 5-0 loss in the opening round of the Hoosier Hills Conference girls tennis tournament.
The Panthers’ Tatum Brown fell to Libby Banet at No. 1 singles, and Mia Silvey lost to Ivy Hasenour at No. 2 singles, both by 6-1, 6-0 scores. Jocelyn Valdovinos fell to Katherine Fancher 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Also for Jennings (6-6), Sydney Kegley and Sophia Lucas lost to Katherine Langdon and Mariana Moury 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Maddy McIntosh and Ari Maldonado fell to Addie Michael and Olivia Holland 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
