Hauser baseball wins at least a title share with victory vs. Cougars

GREENSBURG — Hauser clinched at least a share of the Mid-Hoosier Conference baseball title Friday with a 5-1 win at Class A No. 9 South Decatur.

One night after getting a two-hitter from Simeon Wasil in a shutout win against the Cougars, the Jets got a two-hitter and 17 strikeouts from Holden Pittman. The run he allowed was unearned.

Stryker Gill went 2 for 4 with a double, and Kam Blair went 2 for 4 for Hauser (14-6, 10-0). Wasil had a double and two RBIs.

Starting pitcher Corey Nugent had both hits for the Cougars (11-5, 8-2), going 2 for 3.
