As part of her senior project, Columbus East High School senior Jennaleigh Burgess and her dog Jack Sprague were working toward becoming an independently functioning therapy team through Love on a Leash, an organization of people-and-pet duos who volunteer at nursing homes, hospitals and other facilities.

More than 200 walkers took part in the American Diabetes Association’s second annual Feet to Beat Diabetes Walk in Columbus. The scenic, five-mile route took place around Tipton Lakes.

Jan Bruckner of Columbus made her last appearance as director of Diesel City Chapter, Sweet Adelines, Inc., when the group performed at the May Faire Feast of the Forke at Mill Race Park. Shortly after, Bruckner and her family moved to Denver, Colorado.
