Geneva E. Deitz, 80, of Houston, passed away at 8 a.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. Born June 4, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of Arvil and Martha (Carnathan) Ryan. On September 8, 1956, in Freetown, she married Paul E. Deitz.

Geneva was member of Spraytown Free Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Freetown High School and worked at Marion-Kay Spices where she made the silver coin clocks. She loved to crochet and watch Bill Elliott race in NASCAR.

Geneva leaves behind her daughter, Debby Abel and her husband George of Houston; grandson, J.P. Von Fange; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Bethany Von Fange; brother, Tom (Nora) Ryan of Illinois; and Casey Jo, her beloved dog.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, who passed in September of 2015; parents; her son, Gary Deitz, who passed in January of 2000; and siblings, Eugene Ryan and Charles “Jack” Ryan.

Pastor Jerry Van Kuiken will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016, at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery.
