Man accused of stabbing woman multiple times in Woodlane Drive home

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police officers arrested a local man after he reportedly stabbed a woman multiple times during an argument earlier this morning.

At approximately 2:50 a.m. Thursday, CPD officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Woodlane Drive in regards to a disturbance, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When officers arrived, they located a woman who was stabbed multiple times. She was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

During the course of the investigation, the officers arrested Gregory S. Taskey, 37, of Columbus, who was also at the residence, Harris said.

He was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded with a 48 hour hold on a preliminary charge of battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 Felony.

The investigation in this case is ongoing and is being handled by the Columbus Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
