Aleck Lopez // Hauser senior track athlete
Lopez broke a 46-year-old school record in winning the Mid-Hoosier Conference long jump title with a leap of 21 feet, 9 inches. He also won the 100 meters (11.12 seconds) and 400 (52.41) and anchored the winning 4×400 relay team in a school-record 3:39.82.
His performance last week: “I definitely felt pretty healthy, compared to the other meets. I didn’t have shin splints or anything. I felt pretty good.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just listen to music.”

Kathryn Wilson
Wilson won her No. 2 singles match against top-ranked Carmel 6-1, 6-3, then won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles against Terre Haute North and 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles against Jeffersonville, helping the Bull Dogs to victories in the final two matches.
Her performance last week: “I think I played really hard and tried my best.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “Me and (sister and No. 1 singles player) Ashlie (Wilson) normally warm up together, and usually during the day, I try to mentally prepare myself and get myself ready for the match.”
