COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Kailer Elias Cornelius passed peacefully in the arms of his loving father on September 1st, 2022, at 12:40am. He was born at 11:21am on August 31st, 2022, weighing in at 1lb. 3oz. and a length of 10.25 inches at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
With only 24 weeks and 3 days in the womb, and ~13 hours on this Earth, Kailer Elias touched many hearts and was loved beyond what his parents could have ever imagined. His heart was so strong, and he was perfect in every way. He was a fighter and surprised many doctors. In such a short amount of time on this Earth, his personality shined through. Kicking our hands while we pressed gently on his mother’s belly, to continuously kicking and stretching his little arms and feet to explore his new area outside the womb and using his little tongue to play with the tubes in his mouth. He was truly special.
Surviving and cherishing his memory are his parents, Michael and Merissa Cornelius; grandparents, Kelli and Richard Montoya, grandparents, Carrie Conger and Michael Cornelius; aunts and uncles include Kristin and Francis Malaj, Ashleigh and Patrick Arnold, Mikayla Montoya, Tori Cornelius and Ashton Canchola, Nikki Clark and Patrick Cuomo, Matthew Conger, and Malina Conger; great grandparents, Lupita Montoya, Louise and Mike Baldonado, Lucile Cornelius, and Alice Welliever; and his great aunts, uncles and many loving cousins.
Kailer was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Rafael Montoya, Charles Welliever, Wanda Cornelius, Gerald Cornelius, and twin cousins, Ashley and Alison Heath.
In lieu of sending flowers, please consider making a direct donation to Riley Children’s Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Columbus, Indiana at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church at 10am Saturday, September 17, 2022, with Father Chris Wadelton officiating.
