A tree cozy called “Bloomin’ Fun” was voted the public’s favorite in a Columbus Area Arts Council contest. Winning knitters were Meg Baker, Tammy Freeland, Pilar Lyford Pike, Denise Rau, Carolyn Trublood and Melissa zur Loye.


Business Week magazine named Henry Schacht, chief executive officer at Cummins Engine Co., one of its “25 Executives to Watch.”


Clear weather was forecast, giving local skywatchers a good chance to see a total eclipse of the moon, the last one until 1971.
