Wager allowed three runs in five innings in picking up the win in a 7-3 victory against Batesville and threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout in Saturday’s 4-0 win against Silver Creek.

His performance last week: “I felt pretty good about it, but I felt like I could have done better. There’s always room for improvement.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I try to get a good night’s sleep before, drink a lot of water, and I always do my J-bands and plyo balls before I throw.”

Favorite drink: “Sweet tea”

Favorite food: “Pizza.”

Favorite class: “AP Calculus.”

Favorite sports team: “New York Yankees.”

Favorite athlete: “Aroldis Champan.”

Role model: “My mom and dad (Nathan and Michelle Wager)”

Best advice: “Don’t take what you have for granted.”

Athletics goal: “To have fun this season and play to the best of my ability and get ready for college baseball and always try to improve.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Maui, because I’d like to go surfing down there, and it’s warm.”

Gracie Crawhorn

Crawhorn went 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs in a 10-0 win against South Decatur; went 3 for 3 with two home runs and three RBIs in Friday’s 20-12 win at South Decatur and went 4 for 4 with a double, three home runs and eight RBIs in Saturday’s 11-5 win at Brown County.

Her performance last week: “I went to my hitting instructor and came ready to play and just had a good week.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Usually, I try to get in my hitting lesson, and I like hitting before games and getting into my mental part of the game.”

Favorite drink: “Celsius”

Favorite food: “Chicken Ceasar salad”

Favorite class: “English”

Favorite sports team: “Atlanta Braves”

Favorite athlete: “Cody Bellinger”

Role model: “Md dad (Darren Crawhorn). He’s always there for me. We’re always going to tournaments together, and he’s my best friend.”

Best advice: “When I go up to bat, my dad always tells me to Keep It Simple Stupid, so when I go up there, I’m clear-minded.”

Athletics goal: “I really just want to go and play college softball. I have a couple offers, but I really want to get up there in D-I.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Hawaii. It seems really nice with all the volcanos and seems pretty cool there.”
