Harry V. Baker

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Harry V. Baker, 90, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life Saturday, October 1, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Baker was born in Bartholomew County, Indiana, August 23, 1932, the son of Chester and Evelyn Baker. On September 7, 1991, Harry married Cynthia Sue Kirk; she preceded him in death September 10, 2021.

Mr. Baker retired from Cummins Engine Company after 34 years of service. He was avid fisherman and enjoyed playing Euchre and feeding his squirrels.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Steve Baker of Jonesville and Kathy (Terry) Barnhart of Jonesville; stepsons, Rusty and Donnie Brandenburg of Shelbyville; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lea Mae Shepherd of Nashville; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Evelyn Baker; his wife, Cynthia; a son, Ronnie Baker; and a granddaughter, Rhianna Baker.

The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Jennifer Dolan officiating.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Baker will be laid to rest next to his wife at Hawcreek Cemetery near Hope, Indiana.
