ELIZABETHTOWN
Norva Jean Percifield, 84, of Elizabethtown, passed from this life at 12:28 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Percifield was born November 20, 1937, in Columbus, the daughter of Russell and Christina M. Lowe Peel.
She married Lewis E. Percifield August 11, 1956.
Jean retired from Columbus Regional Hospital in 1993 after several years of service.
She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and a member of Sandcreek Township Homemakers Club.
She enjoyed designing birthday cards and playing cards where she was active in a card club 20 plus years.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years; children, Karen Busch of Columbus, Luann (David) Welmer of Columbus and Stephen (Glynis) Percifield; grandchildren, Asa (Clinton) Hanley, Tyffani Busch, Lydia Welmer, Elliott Welmer, Tyler (Brittany) Percifield and Priscilla Percifield and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Russell Percifield and a sister, Janet Moore.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Carter officiating.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Wednesday at the church.
In keeping with the families wishes, cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
