Barbara J. Glick

COLUMBUS

Barbara J. Glick, 79, of Columbus, passed from this life at 4:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mrs. Glick was born April 21, 1943, in Edinburgh, the daughter of Virgil and Carrie Burton Owens. Barb lost her mother at the age of two and was raised by her grandmother, Clara B. Burton and later by other relatives.

She married George W. Glick June 23, 1961 and together they had four children. He preceded her in death January 10, 2018.

She retired from Columbus Regional Hospital in 1998 as an administrative assistant where she had worked for 22 years.

Barb’s Christian faith was very important to her and she impacted many people’s lives as an active member at Community Church of Columbus and in her role as a lay Biblical counselor. Barb used her talents well as a lead singer in the Gospel group, The Sunshine Singers.

In more recent years, you could find Barb enjoying the sunshine in her chair, coloring in one of her many coloring books and listening to Gospel music or 50’s rock and roll.

Barbara was fiercely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a huge supporter of all they did. Her mantra to her grandchildren was, “Let your light shine” and signed every birthday card with, “Love you bunches”. She leaves behind a legacy of loving unconditionally and putting family first.

The family would like to thank Vicky Stainbrook and Our Hospice for taking incredible care of Barbara.
