Columbus firefighters report the gas leak is under control. Homes in the immediate area of the leak received gas monitoring and were found to be clear. Traffic is moving again. Please watch for utility workers who remain in the area.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus firefighters are on the scene of a natural gas leak near 15th Street and Washington Street.

Traffic restrictions are in place at this time and motorists are asked to avoid the area. As a precaution, one home has been evacuated at this time. There is no immediate threat to other homes in the area, said Capt. Mike Wilson, Columbus Fire Department spokesman.
