Columbus North High School senior Courtney Imlay was praised by Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. Superintendent John Quick for never missing a day of school since kindergarten. The front office staff at both Columbus high schools could remember only one other perfect attendance record in the past 15 to 20 years.

1999

About 170 special needs children attended the Very Special Arts Festival at The Commons, where they painted banners, decorated caps, danced, played music and participated in a scavenger hunt. The biennial event was sponsored by the South Central District of Very Special Arts Indiana, the Columbus Area Arts Council and Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.

1974

Columbus North High School’s speech team won the second place sweepstakes trophy for the second year in a row at the Indiana High School Forensic Association regional competition at Decatur Central High School. North advanced five members of the team to the state competition at Logansport High School and Columbus East had one student as an alternate.
