An expanded partnership between Cummins Inc. and Beiqi Foton Motor Co. was announced in a spectacular way: a bright red tractor carrying officials from both companies rumbled into a smoke-filled room of the Cummins Technical Center. The new Cummins ISG engine model, manufactured in Beijing, would power the Foton Aumon GTL trucks.

1999

Spring break for 26 Columbus North High School students was spent in a small village in Calnali, Mexico, working and helping others. The annual trip was coordinated by North foreign language department chairman Gene Foldenauer and Joanna Watson of Columbus, whose parents lived in the village.

1974

Mike Andress, star of the Columbus North High School football team, was selected to participate in the annual North-South All-Star football game in Bloomington. Andress was the second member of his family to be selected as a member of the South team, after his older brother, Tom.
